Abstract

Книга Нины Эдвардс – популярная история, в которой с минимумом ссылок автор рассказывает о прошлом темноты, причем как темноты физической, так и ее образа в культуре. Вместе с тем, как признает сама Эдвардс – автор книг о пуговицах, сорняках и субпродуктах – ее новая работа скорее о поэтическом осмыслении темноты и вызываемых ею ассоциациях, нежели об историческом переживании ее людьми в разных частях мира на протяжении нескольких тысяч лет.
