Abstract

Говоря без преувеличения, выход в свет этой монографии – событие. Изучение посредством качественных методов роли и смыслов этнических различий в обыденной жизни, особенно при взаимодействии граждан с представителями государства, в России проводится крайне редко. При исследовании этнических проблем предпочтение обычно отдается идеологически оформленной и формально структурированной деятельности, чаще всего неправительственных организаций, а производство и использование категоризаций в повседневных интеракциях изучается и интерпретируется почти исключительно с помощью количественных методов.
