Abstract

Книга Томилы Ланкиной, профессора Лондонской школы экономики, относится к исследовательскому направлению, изучающему социальные траектории потомков докапиталистических элит в двадцатом веке (Фотеева и Семенова 1996; Чуйкина 2006; Lancien and Saint-Martin 2007; Le Wita 1988; Mension-Rigau 1990, [1994] 2007; Pinçon and Pinçon-Charlot 1998; Saint-Martin 1993). По сравнению с работами предшественников, монография Ланкиной новаторская. Во-первых, наряду с качественными методами она широко применяет количественный анализ. Во-вторых, автор связывает воспроизводство высокого статуса привилегированных групп с типом политического режима, устанавливавшегося в стране.
