Авторы и составители сборника «Гендер, поколения и семья в международноймиграции» ставят целью объединение в общее междисциплинарное поле и взаимное обогащение двух академических направлений – социологии семьи и исследований миграции. Для ее достижения выбран такой исследовательский предмет, как законодательные и институциональные барьеры на пути миграции, связаннойс семьей (family related migration), и способы их преодоления в странах Западной Европы, а также в Канаде и Индии.
