Abstract

Книга Дениса Скопина «Photography and Political Repression in Stalin’s Russia: Defacing the Enemy» вышла в издательстве «Routledge» в 2022 году. В этой книге автор пытается проанализировать и объяснить явление, которое было широко распространено в период правления Иосифа Сталина. Речь идет об уничтожении на групповых фотографиях изображений людей, признанных врагами народа. Это явление практически не изучено, несмотря на то что исследований, посвященных эпохе Сталина (в том числе и изобразительному искусству сталинского периода), довольно много.
