Abstract

В издательстве Indiana University Press вышла книга профессора антропологии Тартуского университета Лаура Валликиви «Слова и молчание: ненецкие оленеводы и русские миссионеры в постсоветской Арктике». Работа издана в 2024 году, но ее основу составляет докторская диссертация Валликиви, написанная в Кембриджском университете в начале 2000‑х годов. Таким образом, читатель книги знакомится с событиями довольно давними. К сожалению, из-за того что в книге нет никакого послесловия, он так ничего и не узнаёт ни о дальнейших судьбах героев книги, ни о том, насколько практики, описанные автором, актуальны в настоящее время, как они трансформировались или приумножились.
